Nicolás Telón, from San Juan Comalapa, Chimaltenango, is not your average businessman but an entrepreneur committed to giving the best to his community through food, employment and music. He has dedicated himself to his work on his three business ventures: a restaurant, an organic farm, and his training as a musician also allowed him to found Camerata No'j, an academy and musical group composed of young musicians from San Juan Comalapa with the vision of contributing to the artistic and cultural development of his village and region. From his local restaurant, Nicolás is always looking for ways in which he can improve in each endeavor. What inspires him? He says that the
"Most enriching has been to develop a project from scratch and see it stable and in the process of growth. This is very important also when offering a job opportunity to people in my community and always remember, how important is the motivation for them and for me/us, the inspiration to always seek to improve and feel that we offer the best of ourselves in our work.”

From his time with ALG, he says that the most important lesson was learning to "create spaces in which each and every one of the members feel truly safe, with the confidence to express themselves and be heard. And of course, being clear about the importance also of listening and respecting the opinions of others”.
